Everything has a story or purpose.. even us! Shanna brought her midwest roots to Richmond,Virginia years back. We became fast friends watching the clock at a dreaded corporate job. Two friends with a passion for creating fueled by the gift shop dreams of my childhood and Urban Barn Designs (UBD) was born.
We have found such joy in meeting and hearing other makers stories. It always feels better to have things that connect you to something beyond what’s in your hand. We have the pleasure of bringing you little pieces of all kinds of stories. Shanna and I work hard to stay true to keeping a product mix that is unique, beautiful and affordable. We love each piece enough that on any given day we are likely wearing it ourselves or have it in our homes.
What really excites us is offering items you won’t find in your local gift shop. We would love nothing more than to tell you the story behind each piece. Some of its fun and whimsy. Some of its just cool. We love to keep our eye on trends! Some of its something beautiful that we can’t resist. The rest is purposeful. I hope you find some of all these things here. At the soul of this creative endeavor is peace, happiness and positive empowerment. We love sharing our vision. It is rewarding to know that we are doing our part to make little corners of the world brighter.
